Basic Information
Molinari Italia was founded in 1945 by Angelo Molinari in Civitavecchia, near Rome. A gifted liqueur and spirit maker since a very young age, Angelo's passion led him to Ethiopia where he opened his own "Bar del Capo". In 1939 he moved back to Civitavecchia and, through his experience and intuition, recognised aniseed as the key ingredient for a new, successful liqueur: Sambuca. He created a special recipe with a firm and truly unique taste, which is still a closely guarded family secret. Today Molinari Italia S.p.A. is still owned by the Molinari family and the main offices are still in Civitavecchia. Besides Limoncello Di Capri, Molinari Extra and Molinari Caffe', the product range of Molinari Italia S.p.A. includes other leading brands, such as the finest grappas from the Ceschia Distillery in Nimis, near Udine, and the egg-based liqueur VOV from Padova. Molinari Italia is also the Italian distributor of several premium international spirits that perfectly complete its prestigious portfolio, such as Remy Cointreau, Gin MG, Tovaritch and Xena Absenta.
